"From our
home to yours... a selection of our family's favorite frugal recipes to save you
time and money!!!" I know it's not
always easy planning nice meals on a budget, especially for large families, but
living on hot dogs and macaroni and cheese is not a good option either.
And that's why I've been sharing my own frugal family recipes with our
readers since the spring of 2001, when I founded the popular money-saving Web
site, BetterBudgeting.com. The recipes that are
featured in my monthly column, Michelle’s Meals on a Budget, are easy
to prepare foods that are also easy on the budget.
These are also recipes that our own children enjoy and though I can’t
promise that your kids will love every single recipe too, I certainly hope that
they will. (And please feel free to
make substitutions for special diets as needed, I promise my feelings won’t be
hurt!) As an extremely busy
work-at-home mother of 4, you will find that many of my recipes can be served as
one-dish meals, saving both time and money.
I have divided these recipes into two main sections, breakfast and
lunch/dinner. (Mix them up and
serve breakfast for dinner at least once a week, it’s a great money-saver!)
I have also included a few of our favorite vegetable side dishes, though
my favorite side dish to serve is a simple garden salad. In addition to these
helpful frugal recipes for breakfast lunch and dinner, I have also included many
of our favorite desserts and several beverages as well.
I do hope you enjoy
my family’s favorite frugal recipes! They
are straight from my own southern kitchen and include many of the featured
frugal recipes at BetterBudgeting.com, plus several bonus recipes such as
Homemade Chicken ‘n Dumplings, New Year’s Blackeye Peas with Southern
Cornbread, Creamy Potato Salad, Fried Green Tomatoes, Skillet Potatoes with
Vidalia Onions, Apple Crumb Pie, Chocolate Chip Marbled Cake with Marshmallow
Frosting, Easy Banana Pudding, Perfect Pecan Pie, Strawberry-Banana Smoothie
Delight (and Chocolate Monkey Smoothie Delight), Glazed Pecans, Michelle’s
Trail Mix for Kids, and even Snow Ice Cream! If you’d like to
receive future recipes please be sure to sign up for a free subscription to our
monthly ezine, Living
a Better Life, if you haven’t already. I've also created free printable Menu Planners (available in the ezine each month) for your personal use. Taking a little time to plan out your meals each week before you head for the grocery store will really help you trim your grocery bill. But most importantly, plan your meals around the items that are on SALE each week and use my delicious Frugal Family Recipes!!!!! :o) Blessings always,
